Storyline

Jay has taken on the sole responsibility of managing the family coffee shop since his father’s coma. Surprisingly, the shop has been devoid of customers for weeks. However, everything changes when Jay encounters a mysterious individual who warns him that the shop is haunted.

Will Jay be able to save his coffee shop and find a way to coexist with this enigmatic figure? Is the ghost the only entity haunting him, or are there deeper issues at play?

The game is available to play both in the browser and as a downloadable version, though downloading is recommended to achieve all possible endings.

Development Background

Spirit Latte was created using Ren’Py for the 2025 “Sealed with a Kiss” game jam. Despite the short development window of just over two weeks, which involved numerous all-nighters and skipped sociology lectures, the game has turned out better than expected.

Interestingly, Spirit Latte is a coffee shop alternate universe (AU) based on characters from two different stories written by the developer. While there were aspects that could have been further developed, the final product exceeds initial expectations.
