In the dystopian France of 2234, 13-year-old Victorique and her closest friend Zoé are determined to defy the all-pervasive Human Rescue Organisation. Despite Victorique’s distorted perception due to schizophrenia, the two girls steadfastly pursue their mission to liberate humanity.

Storyline

France in 2234 is a world under constant surveillance. The Human Rescue Organisation enforces this regime with increasing authority, embedding computer chips into the minds of most citizens. These people have acquiesced to a life of convenience, but at the cost of their freedom. The government and H.R.O. view the Glühwürmchen as terrorists, who daily disrupt operations by hacking servers, leaking confidential documents, and vowing not to stop until they have fully dismantled the organization.

Protagonist and Plot

Victorique is one of these Glühwürmchen. Since she can remember, she has been fighting against the delusional voices and hallucinations that her mind portrays as reality. This internal struggle has isolated her further, causing her to live as an outsider. Despite these challenges, Victorique collaborates with Zoé to achieve their ultimate goal: rescuing the entire population and eradicating the H.R.O. from the minds of men.

Game Experience

Dichotomy is an immersive and interactive tale about a French teenager trapped in her own world and desperately seeking an escape. This hybrid Visual Novel and Adventure game offers a diverse experience with variable playtime ranging from several hours to over four hours, depending on the player’s curiosity level. The game includes an extensive compendium of lore from the Forgotten Symphony universe, complemented by an intense and dark atmosphere supported by an engaging soundtrack.
